Russell Lowell Hite

Russell Lowell Hite, 92 a longtime resident of Thurston, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the Pickering House.

He was a graduate of Thurston High School and retired from Crown Zellerbach in the box shop. He enjoyed working on televisions and radios.  Lowell farmed and worked for Walnut Creek Sewer after working in the box shop. He also worked for the Thurston Village Water Department and sat on the Thurston Village Council.

Lowell is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jo-Ann England Hite; son, Douglas (Cindy) Hite of Thurston; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Richard Markwood of Lancaster and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Allen Hite, parents, John and Ivas Hite, brothers, John Franklin, Raymond and Ralph Hite, sisters, Pauline Sheets and Jean Jeffers, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lavaughne Louise and Alfred Leroy England.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 207 S. MAIN ST., BALTIMORE OHIO 43105 with Pastor Richard Boucher officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may visit Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
