Zelma Underwood

Zelma Marie Underwood, age 99, of Lancaster, died March 26, 2013 at Landfair Center. She was born in Lancaster, OH to James and Jessie Murray Baughman on December 7th, 1913. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She worked as a clerk for 10+ years for the Fairfield County Auditor’s Office. She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her son, Roger (Susan) Underwood of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Andrew (Sophia) Underwood of NY, NY, Ryan (Meg) Underwood of Nashville, TN, and Chad (Connie) Smith of Parkersburg, WV; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Underwood; parents, James and Jessie Baughman; daughter, Susie Smith; and brothers, Gail, Murray, Leo, and Cyril Baughman.
A service will take place at 9:30AM on Saturday at the FRANK E SMITH FUNERAL HOME, officiated by Rev. Cheryl Foulk. Burial will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 5PM until 7PM on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Memorials can be made in Zelma’s name to a charity of your choosing.
