Wilmer T. “Bud” Findley, 87, of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on August 15, 2018, at Arbors of Carroll. He was born July 27, 1931, in Vinton Co. to the late Helen A. (Hardesty) Findley and Charles Russel Findley.
He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Findley, Todd Findley; and from his first marriage, Larry (Beverly) Findley; sister, Betty (Ralph) Miller; brother, Kenny (JoAnn) Specht; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 yrs., Dorothy J. “Dot” (Carpenter) Findley, on Oct. 27, 2017; son, Ronnie A. Findley; and brothers, Bob (Sharon) Specht, Raymond (Sue) Specht, and Mike (Shirley) Holland.
He worked numerous jobs throughout the years, but spent the majority of those years working at Anchor Hocking Glass. Watching his sons at sporting, and scouting events brought him much joy, as did his involvement with his great-grandchildren later in life. He had a great love of the outdoors, and was described as a great friend by those who knew him.
Arrangements are being handled by Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St., Lancaster, OH., 43130, with visitation on Sunday, August 19th, from 2-5 pm. The family will hold a private burial service at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff of Carroll Place, Arbors of Carroll, and FairHoPe Hospice.
