William Bill Gobel, 84, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Fairfield Medical Center.
Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Diamond Power in 1991. He was a former president and lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles - Aerie 2120 and a member of the United Commercial Travelers. Bill was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather and he loved O.S.U. Football.
Bill is survived by his wife of 43 years, Juanita Gobel; sons, William Ray Gobel, Todd A. (Bobbie) Gobel, and William Robert Gobel; daughters, Pam Osborne, Jettie Clark, Ann Gobel, and Vickie (Vince) Rager; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, James Gobel and Ronald (Anna) Gobel; and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Gladys Gobel; son, Randall A. Gobel; granddaughter, Tabatha Dawn South; brother, Merrill Gobel; and sister, Margaret Welker.
Funeral service for Bill will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster with military burial honors provided by the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail. Family and friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Donations may be made in memory of Bill to the American Cancer Society.
