William "Bill" Friend, Sr

William “Bill” Friend, Sr. 72 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Pickering House. He was a graduate of Lancaster High School, played football for the Gales, Ohio State Buckeye fan, liked birds, ginseng hunter, and a retired roofer.

Bill is survived by his children, Mike (Jennifer) Friend of Lancaster, OH, William (Cynthia L.) Friend, Jr. of Lancaster, OH, Brian (Jennifer) Friend of New Lexington, OH, Mark (Amy) Friend of Lancaster, OH, Kevin (Terry DeLaney) Friend of Tucson, AZ, Bobbie Jo Friend of Lancaster, OH, and Tina Friend of Circleville, OH; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Trudy Woltz of Lancaster, OH and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie L. Friend, parents, Roy and Eliza Friend, sisters, Jean, Mary, Helen, Ann and Bonnie, brothers, LeRoy and Melvin Friend.

Funeral service will be held Monday, November 30, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Chaplain Kermit Welty officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Chapel Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
