William Beatty

William E. Beatty 91 of Amanda, Ohio former resident of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the Pickering House.

He was born on September 11, 1927 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late James and Vera Beatty. He was a US Army veteran. William was retired from Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation with over 40 years of service as a maintenance representative.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Hamburg and a Masonic member.

William is survived by his daughter, Leigh Ann (Lewis) Gilledett of New York; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; brothers, Gene Beatty of Lancaster, Ohio and Russell (Jennifer) Beatty of Amanda, Ohio; sister, Alice Sheets of Lancaster, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith E. Beatty, son, William Glen Beatty, parents, brothers, Paul and Jerry Beatty and sisters, Ruth Ann and Virginia.

Funeral service will be held Friday, November 30, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Rev. John Kindsvatter officiating. Burial will follow in Hamburg Cemetery with the Lancaster Veterans Burial conducting military rites at the cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
