Wilbert Wright

Wilbert L. Wright, age 100, of Lancaster, died June 10th, 2016. He was born on March 15th, 1916, in Hillview, Illinois, to the late Jenison and Flossie Barstow Wright.

He was an aircraft mechanic that retired from Rockwell. He was a lifetime member of the New Life Christian Center and gave his life to the Lord when he was just 13. Wilbert was an amazing man who will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

He is survived by his daughter; Rachel (Larry) Stewart of Lancaster; brothers, Marvin (Verla) Wright of Columbus and Calvin (Gladys) Wright of Lancaster; grandchildren, David (Cheree) Wright II, Andrew L. (Christie) Wright, Mark A. (June) Wright, Aaron M. (Lisa) Wright, and Clarissa (Rich) Mowles; great-grandchildren, Lacie (James) Mercer, Connor and Jillian Mowles, and Whitnie, Shadon, and Logan Wright; great-great-grandchild, Emma Mercer; and many nieces and nephews.

Wilbert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vivian Wright; sons, Davis E. and Mark S. Wright; brothers, Albert, Alfred, Delbert, and Melvin Wright; sisters, Glenna Redd, Hazel Mason, and Thelma Wilke.

A service will take place at 10:30 AM Thursday at New Life Christian Center, officiated by Pastor Gary Keller. Burial will follow the service at Carroll Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster.
