Wayne Shumaker

Wayne A. Shumaker, 64, of Thornville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 23, 2012.

Wayne served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He was a 1966 graduate of Lancaster High School and he was a truck driver for 40 years.

Wayne is survived by his best friend and longtime companion, Debbie Arnold Shumaker; mother, Kathleen “Kay” Shumaker; brother, Gary (Teresa) Shumaker; children, Fredrick (Molly) Shumaker; Heather Lahrmer, Kevin Shumaker, Jessica (Dan) Wayble, and Anthony Shumaker; six grandchildren; and many other family members and close friends.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Paul Shumaker.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm Friday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster with Pastor Willie Booth officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster with the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail conducting military rites. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
