Wayne Norman

Wayne G. Norman, age 84, of Lancaster, died July 27th, 2018 at Carriage Court. He was born in McConnelsvlle, to the late Delbert and Ethel (Norris) Norman. He was the 2nd of 5 brothers and 1 sister. After graduating high school, he joined the Air Force in 1952. He met and married the girl of his dreams, Cora Y. (Dymond) Norman in 1955. They have been married for 63 years. He is the father of four daughters, Yves (Kim) Couason, Barb (Jerry) Williams, Waynie (Chad) Bates, and their late daughter, Wanda Reddon. He has 12 grandchilden and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was honored to be the last American to lower the Flag in Iwo Jima and return the island to Japan in 1967. He retired from the Air Force as Master Sergeant, having kept the airmen in line as their First Sergeant.

A memorial service will take place on Wed. August 1st, at 3PM at the Believer’s Bible Church, 156 E. South St. Lothopolis, OH 43136. Caring Cremation® has taken place through the FRANK E.
