Wanda Irene Comer, 89, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016.
Wanda was born June 25, 1926, to the late Virgil and Martha DeLong. She was a 1944 graduate of Thurston High School and a member of Gloryland Church of the Nazarene. Wanda and her
husband, Cecil spent many years in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where she worked for the city as an
emergency dispatcher. After retirement, they spent several years in Sebring, Florida before
moving back to Lancaster. She will be remembered as a pleasant and good Christian lady.
Wanda is survived by her daughter, Sharon Irene Comer of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; brother, Ronald
Eugene (Joy) DeLong of Rushville; and many sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Cecil L. Comer; son, Gary Lester Comer;
sister, Eileen Elick; and brothers, Robert DeLong, Virgil R. DeLong, and Pearl Cook.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME,
Lancaster with Pastor Mark Clingan officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
