Wanda V. (Gerken) Block 87 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Carroll Place. She was born on July 9, 1927 and a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and the Republican Womens Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Block, parents, Fred and Freda Gerken, sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis (Gerken) and Jerry Waits.
Wanda is survived by her brothers, George (Connie) Gerken of Lancaster, OH and Gary Gerken of Grove City, OH; special nephews and nieces, Jeff (Cathy) Gerken of Lancaster, OH, Mitch (Jenny) Gerken of Lutz, FL, Jerry “Mike” (Lucy) Waits of Lancaster, OH, Lana (Mark) Reed of NC, Matthew (Karla) Waits of Baltimore, OH, Helen (Mark) Jones of WI, and Fred Gerken of Grove City, OH; many great-nephews and great-nieces.
A private graveside service was held at Forest Rose Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Radditz officiating. Arrangements were handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130.
