Wanda Ayers

Wanda M. Ayers 91 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her daughter’s residence.

She was a member of Sixth Avenue United Methodist Church since 1938, attended in later years, Fairfield Community Church and a graduate of Lancaster High School Class of 1944. She was a former member of Heart Warmers of Sixth Avenue, Rebekah Lodge 760 in Bremen, Ohio, Olivedale Senior Citizens Center, VFW Post 1380 Auxiliary, Heart to Heart Club in New Lexington, Ohio, and was a volunteer for Hospice of Fairfield County. She enjoyed her time with her church, family and friends.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Linda (Vernon) Ebert of Lancaster, Ohio; three grandchildren, Erica (D.J.) Sowers of Lancaster, Ohio, Peter (Jennifer) Klontz of Albany, Indiana and Laura Ebert Forquer of Carroll, Ohio; seven great grandchildren, Alexandra Sowers, Collin Sowers, Corbin Ebert, Bryce Klontz, Alayna Forquer, Addyson Klontz, and Brody Forquer; sister-in-law, Maxine Crist of Lancaster, Ohio; brother-in-law, John Ayers and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Ayers, parents, Floyd and Louvina Crist, brothers, Floyd Crist and Kenneth Crist, sisters, Margaret Gabriel, Norma Jean Myers, Helen Noll, Eleanor White, and Dorothy Crist.

Funeral service will be held Friday, March 3, 2017 at 12 noon at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio. Friends may visit Friday 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial gifts may be given to FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130 in her memory.
