Walter Temple

Walter Ray Temple, 86, of Rushville, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. He was born June 20, 1931, in Columbus to the late Charles and Mamie Temple.

Walter served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post #11 in Lancaster. He also enjoyed gardening.

Walter is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Temple; sons, Ralph W. (Tracie) Temple and Jeffrey A. (Shari) Temple; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his cat, Patches.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Hope Temple; and step daughter, Jo Ann England.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N Columbus St, Lancaster, Ohio 43130. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of FairHoPe Hospice and AlternaCare for the loving care they provided. Donations can be made in memory of Walter to the donor’s favorite charity.
