Walter Hurst, Jr

Walter J. Hurst, Jr. 72 of Pataskala, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital.

He was born on January 27, 1946 to the late Walter J. and Cecilia C. (Sotosky) Hurst, Sr. in Johnstown, Ohio.

Walter was a retired supervisor in construction industry and a Vietnam veteran serving in the US Army. He was a member of Seton Parish Catholic Church in Pickerington, Ohio and AMVETS.

Walter is survived by son, Billy (Anjanette) Hurst of Gatesville, Texas; daughter, Dawn Rene (Kyle) Chumney of Evant, Texas; five grandchildren, Clint, Tyler, Will, Kylie and Kaelyn; great grandchild, Jaxzin; sister, Mary M. Secora of Pickerington, Ohio; brother-in-law, Paul Bogovich of Pickerington, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Nicole (Greg) Muetzel of Bremen, Ohio, Phil (Lydia) Bogovich of Pataskala, Ohio, Denise (Dean) Bailey of Delaware, Ohio and Chris (Megan) Secora of Pickerington, Ohio and great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, M. Jane Bogovich.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Seton Parish Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Jim Klima as Celebrant. Friends may visit 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in St. John Cantius Cemetery, Winber, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Rod Soha as Celebrant. The Winber VFW Post 4795 will conduct military rites at the cemetery.
