Walter Baird

Walter A. Baird, age 89, of Lancaster, passed away January 20th, 2014 at the Fairfield Medical Center. He was born on May 31st, 1924 to Clarence and Sadie Tobin Baird in Pleasantville. Walter was a member of the First Church of Nazarene. He worked as a custodian at Bloom Carroll for 21 years before retiring. One of Walter's favorite pastimes was spending time in his garden growing wonderful vegetables.
Walter is survived by his brother, John Baird of Lancaster; nephew, John (Denise) Baird Jr.; great nieces, Melinda (Marvin) Mullett and Karen Baird; and one great-great nephew, Jonathan Mullett.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Helen Hedges.
A graveside service will take place on Friday at 2PM at Amanda Township Cemetery, officiated by David Tingler, Minister. Arrangements have been handled through the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME.
