Virginia Ruiz

August 31, 1950 — May 1, 2016

Virginia L. (Lanning) Ruiz, 65, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Heartland of Fairfield.

Virginia served in the U.S. Army. She worked for many years as a paralegal.

Virginia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Anne Lopez; grandchildren, Gabriel and Isabel Lopez; sister, Kay (Jim) McAfee; brothers, Bob (Veronica) Lanning and Rick (Serina) Lanning; sister-in-law, Bonnie Lanning; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lee Lanning; and brother, Bill Lanning.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster. Friends may visit 1 hour prior to the service. Caring Cremation has taken place through the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster.
