Virginia Comer

Virginia Rose “Gert” McLaughlin Comer, 87, of Lancaster, passed peacefully on Tuesday,
March 15, 2016.

Ginny was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She worked for 40 years
with the John Clark Insurance Agency. She also served as the bookkeeper for Meals on Wheels
for 10 years, worked for Dr. Christopher Tencza for 10 years, and at the Frame Shop for several
years. Ginny will be remembered as an amazing, devoted, and loving mother and grandmother.

Ginny is survived by her daughters, Anna Kay (David) Heskett, Cathy Comer, Lisa (John) Dinger,
and Marsha (Tom) Smith; sons, James Comer and Chris (Angie) Comer; daughter-in-law, Lise’
Comer; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Norma Jean Confer; and numerous nieces
and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John W. Comer; son, Douglas W. Comer;
parents, Ralph and Myrtle McLaughlin; brother, Jack McLaughlin; and sister, Marcelette
McLaughlin.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church,
1596 George Rd NE, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 with Pastor Todd Noland officiating. Burial will
follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the
Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster.

A special thank you to everyone at Lanfair Center who provided Ginny with such loving and
compassionate care.
