Veronica B. (Dixon) Payne

Veronica B. Payne, age 78 of Lancaster, died March 14th, 2020 at Circleville Post Acute.  She was born to the late Melvin and Agnus Jamalski Dixon in Columbus on January 3rd, 1942.  She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, was an amazing homemaker that enjoyed crossword puzzles, Elvis, fishing, dancing, and loved music.  She was a social butterfly who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Jeff (Martina) Payne, Stephen (Kendra) Payne, Rebecca (Eugene) Tinnerello, Timothy (Carol) Payne, Gregory Payne, Lisa (William) Fosnaugh,  and Crystal (Maico) Ortiz; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Judy Coleman, Regina (Fred) Lucas, Roberta “Sweetie Pie” Hazlett, Patricia (Roy) Vaught, and Marie (Butch) Garrett; and several nieces and nephews.

Veronica was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joe Dixon and Mike Dixon; and sister, Mary Dixon Taylor.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 18th at 10:30AM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home officiated by Fr. Craig R. Eilerman.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, in Franklin County.  Family and friends may call on Tuesday at the funeral home from 1P.M. until 3P.M. and 6P.M. until 8P.M.   Donations can be made to the Frank E.
