V. Jean McCandlish

Jean McCandlish, age 82 of Lancaster died October 24th, 2016 at the Fairfield Medical Center. She was born to the late Jess and Chyrlesa Welch Mason on March 25th, 1934 in Canal Winchester. She was a faithful member of the Tabernacle of David. Jean enjoyed playing BINGO and loved spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Terry (Grace) McCandlish of FL; daughters, Brenda (Jeff) Metzger of Baltimore; Charla (Ed) Hilbert of Newark; Charles McCandlish; grandchildren, David Abbot, Emily (Charles) Fout, Chris Gaskill, Michael (Christina) Metzger, and Sarah Metzger; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Nadine (Delbert) Larabee of FL; brother, Gerold Clark of Baltimore; several nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, half-sister, Bonnie Mason; sister-in-law, Gerry Clark; and granddaughter, Meredith Metzger.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the select few who made a great difference in Jean’s care; Dr. Bruce, Victoria, Bernadette, Kate, and Meredith.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday at 10AM at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home in Baltimore, officiated by Rev. Jerry Grover. Burial will follow the service at Floral Hills Cemetery. Family and friends may call Friday evening at the funeral home from 4PM until 7PM. Memorials can be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
