Tom Walton 63 of Baltimore, OH passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2013, after a lengthy illness. Tom was born on April 30, 1950 at Lancaster Hospital to Charles Dyar and Jeanne L. (Roshon-DeLong) Walton. After graduating from Liberty Union in 1968, Tom worked at Gaylord Container/Crown Zellerbach in the box shop and was also a union representative. He later worked at Anchor Hocking and PetSmart. Tom loved to watch sports, especially football.
Tom is survived by his daughters, Michelle “Mikki” (Mark) O’Dell of Baltimore, OH and Mindi (Todd) McGlaughlin of Gahanna, OH; grandsons, Andre and Maxwell; step-grandsons, Markie and Zachary; sister, Polly A. (David) Stilwell of Baltimore, OH; brothers, Charles “Tip” (Sandee) Walton of Ft. Myers, FL, Steve “Butch” (Jennie) Walton of Baltimore, OH and Kevin (Diane) Walton of Canal Winchester, OH; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special cousins, Janie and Debby and special friends, Bev, Amy, Kurt, Denny, Leroy, Jane and Penny. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Virgil and Flossie Walton and John W. and Maud Roshon, his cat, KC and good friend Jerry Reese.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Maple Grove Church, 9880 Lancaster-Newark Rd. (St. Rt. 37 N.) with Pastor Mike Willis officiating. Friends may visit the family 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Caring Cremation® has taken place by the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, 207 S. Main St., Baltimore, OH 4315. Internment will take place at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, Baltimore, OH.
In Lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to help defray funeral costs. Please send donations to Karen Ansel, 419 E. Monroe St., Baltimore, OH 43105.
A special thank you from the family goes to Drs. Nickison, Bruce and Tenza, the many nurses, aids and Chaplains in ICU, PCU and the 5th Floor at FMC, Basil Joint and Lancaster Paramedics and anyone else who assisted in Tom’s care throughout his illness.
