Grandstaff
Thomas A. Grandstaff 67 of Lancaster, Ohio died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Fairfield Medical Center.
He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army. He served with the Navy Seabees and the US Army during the Vietnam War.
Thomas was a member of the First United Methodist Church and attended First Baptist church, a member of the American Legion Post 11 and VFW Post 1275.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra Gay Grandstaff; daughters, Kimberley (Jay) Nauman and Brittany (Andy) Fox; son, Robert L. (Keri) Grandstaff all of Lancaster, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Kameron Taylor-Napier, Adrienne Taylor-Napier, Justin Nauman, Tyler Grandstaff, Jacob Nauman, William Grandstaff, Jack Nauman, and Anthony Fox; sister, Susan (Austin) Hobbs of Vero Beach, Florida; brother, John A. (Joyce) Wharton of Athens, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Grandstaff, mother, Jean Wharton, brother, Robert C. Wharton, II, step-parents, Erma Grandstaff and Robert C. Wharton, I.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Dr. John Beckett officiating. Burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio with the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail to conduct military rites at the cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
