Theodore "Ted" H. Poth, a beloved farmer known for his generous and jovial spirit, passed away on July 17, 2024 at the Pickering House surrounded by his family. He was born on June 29, 1946 in Pickerington, Ohio, where he remained his entire life. He was a 4-H advisor, obtained his honorary American and State FFA Degrees, and was deeply involved with the county and state fairs.
Ted’s passion for life, however, extended far beyond the fields. Anyone who knew him was acutely aware that his proudest accomplishment was his family. He was a devoted dad, “Poppy” to his grandchildren, and friend who brought joy to those around him with his homemade ice cream and infectious laughter.
He is survived by the mother of his children and best friend, Kathy Poth; his loving daughters, Amy (Braden) Moore, Katy (Chad) Endsley, and Jody Poth; grandchildren, Delaney, Sadie, and Landon Moore, Caroline, Lily, and Austin Endsley; siblings, Eleanore Jane McElhatton and Mary Kathryn Knoderer and several nieces and nephews.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lucille Althoff Poth; and sister, Frances Kerene Hennerfeind.
Calling hours will take place on Sunday from 2PM-5PM and a funeral will take place on Monday at 10:30AM all at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home. 207 S. Main St. Baltimore.
