Thelma E. Bland Mathias 91 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at Homestead Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on August 14, 1921 near Martinsville, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nettie and Albert Bland, step-mother, Ethel, brothers, Charles and Walter Bland, daughter, Carolyn Nye, son-in-law, Robert Nye and infant brother Edgar and infant sister Virginia.
She is survived by her brother, Wilbur Bland of Lancaster, Ohio; son, Jeff (Tonya) Mathias of Westerville, Ohio; grandchildren, Jennifer (Marty) Puckett and Debbie Casillas all of Lancaster, Ohio and Justin Mathias of Westerville, Ohio; great grandchildren, Timothy Dingess, Makayla Puckett and Casey Selby.
She was a member of the Lancaster Church of Christ. Thelma loved her family and spending time watching her basketball and baseball games. She will be greatly missed. A thank you to everyone who helped take care of her at Homestead Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday May 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCATSER, OHIO 43130 with Pastor James Martin officiating. Burial to follow in Stukey Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
