Terry Whitehead

March 20, 1946 — February 8, 2012

Terry J. Whitehead, 65, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, February 08, 2012 at the V.A. Hospital in Chillicothe.

Terry worked at Anchor Hocking for 35 years as a Burn off specialist in the furnace room, retiring in March of 2009. He was a member of the Union Local 561. Terry served our country in the U.S. Army in the Military Police. He was an active member of AMVETS Post 1985 and previously served as their Commander. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Terry was a loving grandfather to his 4 granddaughter and loved to attend their sporting events. He never missed a game, once showing up late to Tosha’s game because he was just released from the hospital after an injury.

Terry is survived by his son, Shawn Whitehead; granddaughters, Tiffany, Tia, Tabitha, and Tosha Whitehead; friend and former wife, Pam Whitehead; sisters-in-law, Julia Whitehead and Becky (Harold) Wolfinger; brothers-in-law, William Tolliver and Steve (Barb) McKittrick; former daughter-in-law, Felicia Washek; and many nieces and nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, James and Annabell Whitehead; brother, Ronald Whitehead; sister, Barbara Tolliver; and in-laws, Kenneth and Mary McKittrick.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday at St. Mary Cemetery in Lancaster with Father Craig Eilerman presiding and the Lancaster Ohio Veterans Burial Detail conducting military services. Caring Cremation has taken place with the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
