Sybil Flowers

Due to power outages, funeral service for Sybil Flowers will be held at 1:00 PM Friday at the SIXTH AVENUE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 1004 West Sixth Ave, Lancaster, Ohio. Calling hours will also be held at the church on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM

Sybil Flowers, 92, beloved Mother and Grandmother, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Fairfield Medical Center. She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family and friends.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Geraldine (David) Gribble of Lancaster, Phyllis Flowers of Lancaster, and Barbara (Jeffrey) Robinson of Canal Winchester and 1 son, Paul (Judy) Flowers of Rockbridge; 2 granddaughters, Paula (Michael) Grunkemeyer of Rockbridge and Danielle (Steve) Vanbibber of Amanda; 3 grandsons, Stephen Bowen of Lancaster, Brett Flowers, and Jon (Joan) Flowers of Rockbridge; and 3 great granddaughters, Ashley Vanbibber, Alexandra and Samantha Flowers. She is survived by 5 sisters and her special friends, pets Tedi and Rocky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Flowers; her parents, John Steele and Charlotte Boggs Cordle; and 4 brothers.

The family wishes to thank the caring staff of Fairfield Kidney Center, Care Tenders VNA, the great nursing staff of Fairfield Medical Center and the following physicians for their wonderful care during her long illness; Drs. Teresa Quinlin, Brian Varney, Abdus Malik, Krishna Mannava, Christopher Walker, Andrew Murry, Douglas Pope, Leon Hughes, Jarrod Bruce, and Jeffrey Yenchar.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster, Pastor Rick Jones officiating. Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Rose Cemetery.
