Susan Bingham

Susie passed away peacefully at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus on June 9, 2018. Susie had endured a long and difficult illness with grace and courage.

Susan Elizabeth Victoria was born to the late Robert M and Viola K Baus on June 1, 1957 at Lancaster Hospital and was known to all as "Susie" throughout her lifetime She was a member of the LHS class of 1975, as was her husband of forty-one years, Brian Thomas Bingham.

Susie volunteered at Fairfield Medical Center, and served on the board of the Friends of the Fairfield County Public Library. She was a regular Red Cross blood donor, having donated in excess of seven gallons over the years.

Susie was preceded in death by both parents; her brother, Robert and her beloved sister, Barbara.

In addition to her husband, Susie is survived by her two children; Erin (David) Bray of Lancaster and Brian (B.J.) (Maggie) Bingham of Columbus, and by three grandchildren; Dominic, Isabel and Gwendolyn Bingham.

Susie also leaves behind her mother-in-law, Betty Bingham; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins; her aunt, Joanie Young; an especially devoted niece, Michelle Studer; one step-grandchild, Rachel Bray; one step great-grandchild, Mikky Mong; and numerous dear friends.

The family wishes to extend their heart-felt thanks to the staff at the James for their wonderful care and most especially for their heart-felt compassion.

Arrangements by the Frank E Smith Funeral Home of Lancaster where cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00 and from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be conducted at Lancaster First United Methodist Church on Wednesday at 11:00AM. Family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the church.

Contributions may be made to the Earth Angel Foundation of Ohio or First United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
