Stuart Edwin Pierce, Rock-n-Roll Stu, born May 18, 1963 in Lancaster, OH to the late James E. and Marilyn Weldon Pierce of Millersport, OH. Stuart passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, September 16, 2022.
Stuart was a 1981 graduate of Millersport High School. He attended Central Ohio Technical
College and Franklin University, where he obtained a Degree in Computer Systems. Stuart retired from the City of Columbus, Division of Electricity and was the Founder, Owner and Operator of Ascenture Internet, now Avolve Internet. His most prominent and memorable role was that of Soda Jerk for Weldon’s Ice Cream, where his “We got Ice Cream Here” will forever be remembered by anyone within earshot.
Stuart is survived by his sisters Janet (Dennis) Jones and Lisa (Guy) Geiger, brothers Steven (Kerry) Pierce and David Pierce. Nieces and nephews Amy (Clint) Ervin, Angela Jones, Molly Becker, Andrew (Rebecca) Jones, Mitchell, Benjamin and Jamie Lynn Pierce and Gavin Geiger. Great nephews and nieces Cameron (Sarah) Ervin, Kennedy Ervin, Evan and Andrew Becker, Lydia, Hannah, Andrew, Nathaniel, Caleb and Carys Jones. Great Grand Uncle to Evelyn Ervin. Cousins Tish Hallam, Bob Weldon and Lana Guinan and many other cousins in the north and south as well as close friends and great neighbors.
Stuart was preceded in death by his parents James E. and Marilyn Weldon Pierce, Cousins Pete and Rudy Hansberger, Phil Weldon, Nephew James Becker, Great Nephew Malachi Jones and favorite Aunt Dorothy Weldon Hansberger.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2021 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM, at Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, 207 S. Main St. Baltimore, OH 43105. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, September 21, 2021 at 11AM, there will be an hour of calling prior to the service. Caring Cremation® will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Licking County Rolling Thunder Toy Run in conjunction with Licking County Salvation Army, a non-profit organization (Facebook Rolling Thunder Toy Run for more information).
