Stephen "Sparky" Sparks

Stephen L. “Sparky” Sparks, 70 of Millersport, Ohio passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Fairfield Medical Center.

He was a graduate of Millersport High School, the 1966 football team that went undefeated and unscored on that season.

Stephen was a Vietnam veteran serving in the USMC. He was a salesman for Webster Sports Center in Florida and the later opened his own business in Vashon, Washington, H & S Precious Metals.

Stephen was a life member of the Buckeye Lake VFW Post 1388, member of the Millersport Lions Club and an avid supporter of the Millersport Athletic Department. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, conservationist and a friend to all.

He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Sparks Little of Millersport, Ohio and Tiffany Sparks Crawford of Vashon, Washington; step-children, Tonya Hartless and James Hartless both of Lancaster, Ohio and Teresa Fannin; grandchildren, Joseph “Sam’ Little, Matthew Alan Sparks and Elizabeth Ann Sparks; step-grandchidlren, Tyler Fannin, Kimberly Porter and Amber Porter; a father and grandfather figure to many Millersport area youth; brothers, Dennis O. Sparks of Atwater, California and Dave (Judy) Sparks of Flushing, Michigan; serval nieces and nephews.

Stephen was preceded in death by his son, Stephen L. Sparks on Feb. 2018, parents, Les and Kate Sparks and close friend, Betty Hartless.

Caring Cremation® has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. A graveside service will be held Friday April 27, 2018 at 2:00 p. m. at Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, Ohio. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Millersport High School (old) Football Field at noon with a gathering at Buckeye Lake VFW Post 1388 following the service on Saturday.
