Shawn P. O'brien

Shawn P. O'brien’s fight ended August 12th, 2021. He was the son of Michelle and Michael O'brien, husband of Amy O'brien and the father of Tyler, Taryn (Ross) and Tanner. He was the proud owner of his four legged friends Clover, Koji, Chole and granddog Cooper. He had several nieces and nephews. He enjoyed golf, eating out, video games, spending time with family, and loved watching Ohio State and the Buccaneers. He had a love for his fantasy football league and his Big Head friends. Shawn was a great guy and impacted the lives of so many. He was ready to listen and help guide people through their struggles like it was his own counseling services being held in our home, he had his own background, so he never passed judgement on anyone.  Over the years Shawn coached basketball, football, and softball and loved mostly every minute of it. Before Shawn got sick we were able to do lots of fun activities and attend some special events like going to Florida, Indiana, Zoombezi Bay, watching his Buccaneers with the Super Bowl, and being able to walk his daughter down the aisle. He would want to extend a special Thank You to Deb, Beck, Kassidy, Ross, and Lyndsay for giving his wife and kids comfort on his final days.  Shawn sure was one of a kind and he will never be forgotten. He will be missed and forever loved by many. I mean how many guys do you know that would TP his Mother-In-Law’s house and blame it on his oldest son. As he would always say Fire Those Cannons and Go Bucs!

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 5:30 PM at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. Columbus St., Lancaster, OH 43130. Family and friends may visit from 12-2 PM and again from 3:30 PM until the time of service on Tuesday. Caring Cremation will follow.
