Sharon "Sherry" A. (McCracken) Jenkins

Sharon “Sherry” A. Jenkins 75 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Bickford of Lancaster Assisted Living.  She was born in Newark, Ohio to the late Searle and Elsie McCracken.

She started out at the Baltimore Volunteer Fire Department as a firefighter and paramedic prior to it becoming the Basil Joint Fire District where she still had the same duties.  At the same time she was on the Basil Joint Fire District, she was also on the Pickerington Police Department as a dispatcher and an officer. Sharon later went on to work at Grant Medical Center as the Security Supervisor where she retired.

Sharon enjoyed music by playing the flute, piccolo, organ and the piano.

She is survived by her favorite child, Maggie; children, David (Heidi) Jenkins and Jason (Terah) Jenkins all of Lancaster; grandchildren, Jonathan Miller, Amanda (Scott) Ball and Joshua Murdock; great grandchildren, Zaiden, Vanden, Samantha, Morgan and Fynlee; brother, Robin (Cecelia) McCracken; ex-husband, Levi Jenkins;  her Bickford Family and Shriver Hospice Family.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, aunts and uncles, Mary Ruth and Carl Bratfisch, Sharon Ann and Danny Stricker and Howard “Sonny” and Diane Weakley, Jr.

Caring Cremation® is being handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, LANCASTER, OHIO.  No funeral services to be observed.
