Sarah Locke

Sarah “Katy” Locke, 88, of Baltimore, passed away on November 1, 2024 at the Pickering House. She was born to the late James and Ida Wormsley in Caryville, TN on February 6, 1936.

Katy enjoyed sewing, embroidery, word searches, playing the piano, and singing in the church choir. Katy was also a caring and compassionate caregiver to several children. 

She is survived by her children, Belinda (Steve) Ervin, Jerry Locke Jr., and Thomas (Sherri Rosebrook) Locke; grandchildren, Jerry (Errin) Locke III, Cassandra Martin, Nicholas (Ashley) Ervin, and Joseph (Emily) Ervin; great grandchildren, Tyler, Alison, Bo, Sage, Oakley, and Alexis; sister, Betty Longmire; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Locke Sr.; siblings, Anna Mae, Emily, John Morgan, Frank, Mary Ruth, Don, Pauline, and infant sister, Margaret; and her parents.

A memorial service officiated by pastor Mike Adams will take place at New Zion Methodist Church, 10991 Snyder Church Rd NW, Baltimore, OH 43105 on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 2:30 PM. The family will receive guests wishing to express their condolences from 1:30 PM until the time of the service. Katy’s family invites everyone to share a meal after the service at the church. Internment will take place at a later date in Union Evangelical Cemetery, Baltimore.
