Sally Ann (Welker) Truex

Sally Ann Truex, 67 of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013 at her home.
Sally was born on August, 17, 1946, in Canton, OH, to the late Delbert and Arlene (Foltz) Welker. She graduated from Sandy Valley High School, Magnolia, OH. She worked for Timken Company following high school. She was a full-time mother of four children.
On June 25, 1966, she married Rev. E. Melvin Truex and co-labored with him at the Little Country Church in Waynesburg, OH, and The Faith Memorial Church in Lancaster, OH. She also led the Lady’s Auxiliary at Hollow Rock Camp near Toronto, OH. She was a person of prayer, loved her husband and her family.
Sally is survived by her husband, Pastor Mel Truex, four children: Wendy (Jonathan) Hanks of Lancaster, OH; Rev. Jon (Jodie) Truex of Washington Court House, OH; Marci Truex of Blacklick, OH; and Luke (Erin) Truex of Lancaster, OH; nine grandchildren- Jeremiah, Kiirsten, Lauren, McKenzie, Natalie Truex, Courtney and Brandon Hanks, Park and Hadley Truex. Three siblings-Carolyn (Charles) Frederick, Ocala, FL; Ted (Bonnie) Welker, Magnolia, OH, Janet (Dave) Almasy, Waynesburg, OH; Mother-in-law, Mary Truex, Marion, OH; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sonja (Layne) Barnwell, Morral, OH; Janice Lappin, Venice, FL; Dan Truex, Ashville, FL; Truman Truex, Marion, OH, plus many nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts, and special Christian friends.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Arlene Welker, her father-in-law, Rev. C. Melvin Truex.
Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Memorial Church, Lancaster, OH with Dr. Thomas Hermiz and Pastor Jonathan Morgan officiating. Burial to follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Bloom Twp. Friends may visit Monday from 2:00-8:00 pm at the church and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Arrangements are being handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. COLUMBNUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hollow Rock Camp, 1958 Co. Rd. 51, Toronto, OH 43964 or Faith Memorial Church, 2610 W. Fair Ave., Lancaster, Ohio 43130 in her memory.
