Sally K. Speaks, age 81 of Baltimore, died March 8th, 2018 at Mount Carmel West. She was born on October 30th, 1936 in Canton, to the late Henry and Altje Roley Torrence. She was a 1954 graduate of Liberty Union who worked over 20 years as a typesetter for the Fairfield Leader. Sally enjoyed crafting, sewing, and was a great cook. Sally was a life long resident of Basil/Baltimore who will be deeply and forever missed.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Lyle Speaks; daughter, Lori Speaks; sister, Nancy (DeVaughn) Crist; brother, Colin (Beverly) Weaver; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tedd Torrence; step-brothers, Frederick and Jack Weaver; and step-sister, Undine Lamb.
A graveside service will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Baltimore, on Tuesday at 2PM officiated by Rev. Jill Dunlap. Family and friends may call Tuesday at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME from noon until the time of the graveside service.
