Sally Kay Cruit 75 of Lancaster, Ohio passed peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2012 at Rockmill Rehabilitation Center.
Sally was born August 27, 1936 in Pleasantville, Ohio. She was a cheerleader and was named Miss Pleasantville during her teen years. She was a former member of Pleasant Grange and Rebekah Lodge. Sally loved sports and was happy to have watched many of the March Madness Games this year. She was always an excellent homemaker, cook and decorator. She loved to build dollhouses and passed along her love of DIY projects and antiques to her daughter. She also loved her four legged grandpup, Riley.
She is survived by her daughter, Polly (Shawn) McCormick of Canal Winchester, Ohio and son, Terry (Barb Nash) Culp of Canal Winchester, Ohio; sister, Charla (Bill) Green of Lancaster, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Sallys husband, George Cruit passed in 2006 and they are finally together once again. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Pauline DeRolph and sister and brother-in-law, Polly and Robert Culp.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the caring staff at Rockmill Rehabilitation Center where Sally developed an extended family of sweet and caring aides and nurses who kept her comfortable and in good spirits as her diseases progressed.
Caring Cremation has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. A memorial service for both Sally and George Cruit will be held Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at the graveside at Forest Rose Cemetery with Pastor Melvin Truex officiating. All family and friends are welcome.
