S. Kay Johnson 65 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Fairfield Medical Center.
She was Director of Education for FairHoPe Hospice for 15 years. She was a registered nurse for 44 years and a member of Ohio Directors of Nursing, National Directors of Nursing and Mt. Pleasant White Shrine of Jerusalem #57.
Kay is survived by her husband of 44 years, Joseph R. Johnson; son, Joseph W. (Nicole) Johnson of Norwalk, Ohio; daughter, Heidi Johnson of Newark, Ohio; grandchildren, Kayleigh Johnson, Cody Springer, Zoey Johnson and Collin Johnson; sister, Violet Stickle of Lexington, Kentucky; half sisters; half brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Hazel Jeffers, brother, Edwin Jeffers and sister, Edna Engle.
Funeral service will be held Monday, October 8, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Chaplains Linda Ward and Ernie Doling officiating. Burial to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may visit Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a Mt. Pleasant White Shrine of Jerusalem #57 memorial service Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
