Ryan Russell

Ryan Russell, age 42, was taken from us far too soon due to a tragic traffic accident. When he walked into a room he was always bigger than life. He knew no strangers, and wherever he went he was always initiating conversations with people he didn’t even know. He had a big heart for and was a constant helper and defender of the weak and less fortunate. He made us laugh, made us cry, and we miss him terribly. 

He was a gifted home improvement craftsman, had no fear of tackling any project whether he had prior experience or not, and he went above and beyond to ensure that upon completion things looked great and would last.

Ryan was born on June 11th, 1982 in Athens, Ohio to Tammy and David Russell. Tammy remarried Bee Miller in 1993, and Bee and Ryan lovingly called each other “son” and “dad” for over 30 years. 

He was preceded in death by his stillborn son Lincoln. He is survived by his mom and both dads; his grandparents from his mom’s side Virginia Bowles and Bob Phillips; two children Rylee (Christian) Estep and Carter Russell; brother Brandon (Stacie) Russell and sister and brother-in-law Maranda (Miller) and Tim Parr; and many treasured aunts, uncles and cousins. 

A visitation will take place at Frank E. Smith Funeral Home on Friday September 20, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Saturday September 21 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM; followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Saturday.
