Ryan Lewis McNeil

Ryan Lewis McNeil, age 38 of Miamisburg, passed away February 7th, 2021 at Sycamore Medical Center.  He was a 2001 Cincinnati Turpin High School graduate where he excelled at swimming and was a cellist in the orchestra.  Ryan always had a love of computers and even taught himself how to code at a young age.  He attended Cincinnati State where he received his associates degree in Computer Science.  He then started out as an intern at Dayton Freight and over the past 12 years, worked his way up to being a Lead Software Developer. He loved following all sports especially the Red Wings, Reds, and Bengals.  Music was also his passion and he attended countless concerts over the years.  Ryan was a beer making, meat smoking, animal whispering, gamer and guitar dabbler.  In true fate, Ryan met the love of his life 9 years ago and together they had a beautiful home and family.  His whole world revolved around his wife, daughter, and their 4 cats. He was an amazing husband, a devoted father, a precious son, and a great friend.  His contagious laugh and quirky whit will never be forgotten, and his memories will be cherished by all.

Ryan is survived by his loving wife of almost 5 years, Dessi Richards McNeil; daughter, Stella Ryann McNeil, 4 cats, Luna, Molly, Murphy, and Lexie, parents, Kim Duane (Jan (Lewis)) McNeil, sister, Katie (Jonathan Burns “JB”) McNeil, grandmother, Virginia McNeil; mother and father-in-law, Diane (Dave) Richards; brother and sister-in-law, Dane (Danielle) Richards; niece and nephews, Dylan and Denver Richards and Charlie Burns; and grandmother-in-law, Anna Mae Elliott.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Irene Lewis, Charles Lewis, and John D. McNeil.

Caring Cremation™ has taken place through the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home.  A memorial service will take place on Saturday at 4PM at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home 207 S. Main St. Baltimore, OH 43105. It will be livestreamed via the Frank E. Smith funeral home Facebook page.  Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been set up for Stella Ryann McNeil.  Donations can be sent to Stella R. McNeil c/o Merrill Lynch, 4661 Sawmill Road, Suite 200, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43220.  One hour of memorial calling will take place at a later date around Miamisburg.  Due to Covid-19 masks are required and social distancing is required.
