Ruth Mae Kiley, 97, of Rockbridge, passed away on April 23, 2021 at the Buckeye Care and Rehab Center. She was born to the late Thomas and Garnet Lewis in Columbus, OH on April 1, 1924.
Mae was an extremely hard worker, who always put others before herself. She was generous, giving, loving, and an overall sweet person. She and her husband owned the A and A sports Bait Store. She loved to sew Raggedy Ann dolls, writing letters, and genealogy. Mae would always say “Learn something new every day! You’re never too old to learn!”
She is survived by her daughter, Carole (Ernie) Roberts; daughter-in-law, Chris Kiley. Sister, Peggy (Dick) Peck; Brothers, John and Larry; grandchildren, Charlotte (Dave) Landes, Cathy (Dean Kitchen) Root, Suzanne (Kenneth) Helman, and Annette (Phil) Estep; great grandchildren, Jeremy Martin, Tarah Wilson, Hannah Piecynski, Karissa Hardbarger, Philip Estep, Josh Westbrook, Alison Westbrook, Shanna Canter, Nicholas Root and Natalie Knöll ; great-great grandchildren, Layla, Theo, Felix, Elliot, Layne, Nora, Sleven, Maevis, Gabe, Ryder, Mikey, Lyla, Isabella, Sofie, Xavier, Cora, and Abram.
Mae is preceded in death by her husband, Welland C. Kiley; son, Thomas Kiley; brothers, Richard and George Lewis; and parents.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 1 PM at Green Hill Cemetery, Johnstown, OH.
