Ruth Stewart

Ruth Oberdorfer Stewart, age 92, of Lancaster, passed away at her residence on Monday, January 31st, 2011. She was born in Lancaster, OH to Ralph and Ethel Schaffer Oberdorfer on August 10th, 1918. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and also a member of Froebel Club. She loved her family very much and also enjoyed traveling with her husband and her friends, and she loved all things French. She was an avid gardener, a wonderful watercolor artist, and had a love for her dogs.
She is survived by her sons, Ralph J. (Jane C.) Stewart of Woodridge, IL., William R. (Wendy P.) Stewart of Madison, WI, Thomas E. (Brenda J.) Stewart of Lancaster; daughter, Mary S. Cennamo of Canal Winchester; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jessica) Stewart of Chicago, IL, Michael (Uma) Stewart of Mapplewood, NJ, Peter Stewart, Naperville, IL, Trevor Stewart of Madison, WI, Stephanie (Robert) Kelley of Valencia, PA, Jessie Stewart of Powell, OH, and Katherine Stewart of Los Angeles, CA, Joseph Cennamo of Cleveland, Julian and Thomas Cennamo both of Canal Winchester; great-grandchildren, Aadi Stewart, Thomas, and Hope Kelley; and first cousin Theodore (Dona) Ashton of Cleveland. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Stewart; and her parents. The family would like to give a special thanks to FairHoPe Hospice, Home Instead Senior Care and especially the caregivers, Linda, Yvonne, Rita, and Glenna.
A service will take place at 10:30am, Friday, February the 4th, 2011 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church officiated by Pastor Mark Raddatz. Burial will follow the service at the Forest Rose Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2 until 4 and 5 until 7pm on Thursday, at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
