Ruth M. (Campbell) Hummel

Ruth M. Campbell Hummel, 57 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Fairfield Medical Center.

She had worked for Kmart for 25 years and then later Meijers.   She was a member and supporter of National Wildlife Association, Indian Schools, Arbor Day Foundation, Birds and Blooms, Juvenile Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, and photographing wildlife especially birds.  Ruth was a Lancaster High School graduate class of 1982 and was in 4-H in high school.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 19 years, Gary Hummel; parents, Ron and Kaye Campbell of Lancaster, Ohio; brother, Robert D. (Donna L.) Campbell of Lancaster, Ohio; sister, Lisa Kaye Nicolia of Lancaster, Ohio; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends; close friends, Sue and Frank Stump along with her feline companion, Sunshine.

She was preceded in death by her son, Shane Starner, brother-in-law, Robert Nicolia, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Allan and Peggy Hummel and grandparents.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 17, 2021 at 12 noon at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Dave Phalen officiating.   Caring Cremation® has taken place. Friends may visit 2 hours prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
