Ruth Esteen Fisher

Ruth Esteen Fisher, 86, of Lancaster, peacefully passed on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at the Pickering House with her loving husband of 69 years, Raymond Fisher, by her side. She was born on April 26, 1931, in Williamson, WV to the late Charlie and Lydia (Yates) Van Dyke.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was always laughing or had a smile to share that would brighten your day. She also loved animals.

She is survived by her husband; children, Jeffrey (Mary) Fisher, Mark (Michelle) Fisher, and Pam Fisher; grandchildren, Serra Fisher, Mandy (Chris) Stone, Clint (Kea) Fisher, and Natalie (Brandon) Smith; great grandchildren, Miranda Stone, Aidan Stone, Aubrey Fisher, and Cody Brown; and sisters, Ruby Fisher and Verna Barker.

She was preceded in death by her sons, John L. Fisher and David Fisher; her parents; and brothers, Ed and Ralph Van Dyke.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. Columbus St, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 with Pastor Ed True officiating. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at a later date in Evergreen Union Cemetery in Waverly, Ohio.
