Ruth Donley

Ruth I. Donley, age 90, died Thursday, November 8th, 2012 at the Pickering House. She was born in Byesville, OH, on August 15th, 1922 to her parents, William and Emma Davis Gill. She was a member of the Moose Ladies; she retired as a Glass Selector from Anchor Hocking Plant 2; Ruth was an avid bowler who enjoyed traveling and going to Casinos, poker and bingo were her games; she also loved quilting and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Jack (Lois) Donley of Lancaster; daughter, Judy (Lowell) Karcher of Lancaster; grandchildren, Ann Blosser, Kathleen Schmelzer, Kelly Donley, Dave Donley, Jodie Poor, Tom Karcher, Ric Karcher, Toni Friesner, Clint Donley, Kyle Donley, and Sarah Donley; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, William Charles Donley; sons, William C. “Butch” Donley, Steven Donley, and Ric Donley; 3 brothers, Carl, Fletch, and Paul Gill; and one sister, Roxie Gill.
Caring Cremation® has taken place through the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 17th at 3PM, officiated by Reverend Cheryl Foulk. Family and friends may visit from 1PM until 3PM at the funeral home on Saturday. A private family interment will take place at Floral Hills at a later date.
