Russell J. Nutter

Russell J. Nutter, age 75, of Rockbridge, OH died March 2, 2023 at FMC.  He was born to the late Ralph and Zella Cooper Nutter in South Webster, OH on June 25, 1947.  He was a 25 year member of the Word of Promise  Church.  He retired after 38 years at Liebert Air Conditioning Company where he was an amazing Braizer. He loved fishing, especially at Bloom Lake, gardening, farming, and his animals and was quite fond of his rabbits.  More recently, he enjoyed building bird houses and selling them at craft fairs all over the area.  He enjoyed his time in his barn making things  His amazing personality, and love for life will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Betty Nutter; children, Jeanie Fields; Theresa Ann (Greg Ball) Nutter; grandchildren, Nathan, Nick, and Noah Thomas, Amanda and Mathew Farley, and Brittny Nutter; step-grandchildren, Josh and Billy Entingh, Taylor Lanning, and Kayla Yinger; great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Ruby; brother, Richard (Shari) Nutter; sisters, Zella Slack, Carol Horner, Lois Wilburn, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Russel J. L. Nutter; brothers, Ray, Gene, Ronald,  Ralph “Sonny”, and infant boy; sisters, Mable and one infant girl.

A funeral service will take place on Friday March 10th at 2:00PM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St. Lancaster, OH 43130. Caring Cremation™ will take place after the service. Family and friends may call from 1:00PM until 2:00PM until the time of service at the funeral home.  Donations can be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
