Russell Bailey, 92, of Baltimore, passed away peacefully at his residence and surrounded by family on August 20, 2020. He was born in Lovely, KY to the late Bill and Myrtle Bailey on October 20, 1927.
Russell was loved by all, and never met a stranger. He cared deeply for his family, always putting them first, and had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren. He truly made the world a lighter place, and changed the lives of many people. Russell had a strong work ethic, working since the age of 9. He was also a member of the Eagles.
Russell is survived by his children, Tami (Daniel) Blanchard, and Bryan (Robin) Bailey; grandchildren, Cierra Bailey, Joshua Bailey, Oceana McCarty, Summer Blanchard, Hailey Blanchard; great grandchildren, Joseph and Aurora; siblings, Bertha Spence, Phillip (Fay) Bailey; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (nee Jude) Bailey; grandson, Thomas Christy-Bailey; parents; Bill and Myrtle Bailey; and siblings, Ed Bailey, Minnie Spence, Walter Bailey, Luke Bailey, Tom Bailey, Goldie Stockton, Nancy Preece, and Thelma Hensley.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 3 PM in the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL 207 S. Main St., Baltimore, OH, 43105, with Rev. Joe Duvall officiating. Burial will take place at Union Evangelical Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 3-5 PM on Sunday, and one hour prior to the funeral service.
