Ruby Claypool

It is with great sadness the family of Ruby M. Abbott Claypool announces her passing on Monday Dec. 10, 2018, at the age of 92 years.
Ruby will be fondly remembered by her children: Chris (Barbara) Claypool and Gwen (Mike) Shafer; grandchildren, Christina (Andrew) Deem, Michelle (Bart) Hampson, Matthew (Sarah) Claypool, Nathan (Rachel) Shafer and Martha (David) Stricker; great grandchildren, Grant and Grace Hampson, Claire and Lauren Deem, Riley and Colton Shafer, Olivia and Eliza Claypool; sisters-in-law, Juanita Claypool and Phyllis Claypool, and many nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Pearl and Helen Abbott, husband James R. (Bob) Claypool, siblings Trenton Abbott, Roberta Hansley, Bill Abbott, uncle Neil Abbott, and great grandson Brandon Deem.
Ruby was co-founder of Claypool Electric Inc., a Farm Bureau council member, 4-H advisor, china painter, noodle maker, and member of Grace United Church of Christ. Many thanks to Ruby’s care givers for their dedicated and loving assistance.

Calling hours for Ruby will be Sunday Dec. 16, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home 405 N. Columbus St., Lancaster. The funeral will be Monday, December 17th, at Grace United Church of Christ 1185 Pleasantville Rd., Lancaster. Visitation at 9:30 am and funeral at 10:30 am with Rev. Robert Tussing officiating.
