ROY PARGEON

Roy Pargeon, age 69, of Millersport passed away at Fairfield Medical Center on Thursday, Oct. 20th, 2011. He retired from Diamond Power after 37 years. He was a member of the Millersport United Methodist Church where he was an usher and door greeter. He was an avid gardener, an OSU fan, and a 5 year pancreatic cancer survivor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Ginny Pargeon of Millersport; daughters, Theresa (John) Brunney of Lancaster and Donna (John) Blair of NC; son, Jeff (Anne) Pargeon of Columbus; step-sons, Tim (Connie) Alkire of Newark; Mark Alkire of Millersport; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren;, brother, Eddie (Helen) Pargeon; sisters, Ruth Ann Long, Wanda (Dave) McCloy, Carol Welch, Shirley (Rick) Kokensparger, many nieces and nephews; and, mother-in-law Betty Shell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl (Morris) and James Pargeon; sister, Norma Jean and John McCabe, Margie and Dave Koblentz; brother, Lloyd Pargeon; father-in-law, George Shell; and brother-in-law Bill Welch.
A service will take place on Thursday at 10:30 AM at the Millersport United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may call from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8PM on Wednesday at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME and one hour prior at the Church on Thursday. Memorials in Roy's name can be made to either the Millersport United Methodist Church 2310 Refugee Rd. NE Millersport, OH 43046 or the American Cancer Society.
