Ronald “Dale” Brothers, 66, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Fairfield Medical Center after a courageous battle with COVID complicated by other health conditions.
Dale had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. There was always a story to tell no matter where you ran into him. Rose and Dale loved to make spontaneous trips just to get out of the house and he'd ask "where are we going for supper." A recent activity Rose and Dale were fond of was volunteering for D.A.S.H. animal rescue, where they worked with dogs. One of his greatest joys was being with his grandchildren. Ella plays soccer, Hayden at his choir concerts, making paper airplanes with Noah, and pretending to eat tacos with Mackenzie.
He was an avid car guy and enjoyed going to car shows with his buddies Jim and Mike. One of the best experiences was when he got to do the Drive Experience with NASCAR, driving his blue 71 Chevy Nova, and finally at 50 years old, buying a blue Corvette! Dale enjoyed watching sports and old western movies during his down time. He retired from the City of Lancaster after 29 years as a wastewater treatment operator.
Dale is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Rose (Wehr) Brothers; his children Eric (Polly) Brothers of Lancaster, Ohio and Sherri (Scott) McMillan of Pickerington, Ohio; grandchildren Ella, Hayden, Noah, and Mackenzie; and his sisters Charlene Hastings and Ruby Sciance.
Preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Dale Brothers; parents Ronald and Myrtle (Howell) Brothers; brother Nelson; and his parents in law Vernon and Marjorie Wehr.
