Ronald Swartz

Ronald E. Swartz, 70, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014. Ronald was born December 21, 1943, in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Arthur and Virginia (Pierce) Swartz, Jr.

Ronald’s passion was baking and he was well known for his donuts and pastries. He opened the Little Donut Shop in Lancaster and then later opened Lancaster’s first drive-thru donut shop, Donuts to Go.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sally (Reynolds) Swartz; son, Ronald E. Swartz II; daughter, Amy Swartz; grandchildren, Ruby K. Rohrer, Isaak J. Swartz, and Ariel J. Swartz; brother, Ken Swartz; uncle, Bob Swartz; brother-in-law, Larry Reynolds; sister-in-law, Linda Perry; and several nephews.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kathy Piotrowski; and brothers, Mike and Steve Swartz.

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 PM Friday in the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Chapel, Lancaster. Friends may visit from 5:30 to 7:30 Friday before the service. Caring Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ronald to a charity of the donor’s choice.
