Ronald Lee Schoop 83 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Buckeye Care and Rehabilitation Center. Ron was born on September 13, 1941 to the late Harold Schoop and Fern (Parkinson) Schoop.

Ron was a graduate of Millersport High School Class of 1959. After graduation, he joined the US Air Force for a short time from 1960-1961.

He enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, as well as collecting stamps and coins. Ron was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses and also enjoyed attending services with other Kingdom Hall members.

Ron was later diagnosed with Cerebellar Ataxia which is similar to Parkinson’s Disease which would eventually take his life.

He is survived by his sisters, Patricia Stevens-French and Joyce Skoczen all of Reynoldsburg; nephews, Robert and Jeffrey (Janelle) Skoczen; great nephews, Maddox Skoczen and Hayden Harry along with numerous cousins.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Albert French, Jr.

The family would like to thank the staff of Home Helpers who cared for Ron and especially a thank you to Val, Lisa and Erika for their wonderful loving care they provided to Ron for many, many years.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, BALTIMORE, OHIO with Speakers Adam Figgins and Dave Pfahler. Burial will follow in Millersport Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
