Ron Stiverson 54 of Thornville, Ohio died Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Fairfield Medical Center.
He was a veteran of the US Navy serving with the Sea Bees-MCB 5th Battalion. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, had worked for Austin Trucking as an over the road truck driver and also had worked for Ralston Foods for eight years.
Ron is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cheri; daughter, Courtney (Cory) Riley of Bremen, Ohio; mother, Connie Pyles of Thornville, Ohio; sister, Holly (Chuck) Shugars of West Virginia, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Chad Stiverson, father, Donald Stiverson, mother-in-law, Ethel Stiverson and father-in-law, Arthur Keeton.
Funeral service will be held Thursday August 29, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Pastor Willie Boothe officiating. Burial to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens with the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail conducting military rites at the cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 1 hour prior the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
